URANUS IN GEMINI

… This quote, attributed to the Greek philosopher Heraclitus, is a perfect description of Uranus’s move into Gemini.

Beginning July 7, after a brief retrograde back into Taurus from November, 2025 to April, 2026, Uranus will travel through the Sun sign of Gemini until 2033.

Uranus is the revolutionary, the rebel, the innovator and disrupter. He disrupts the status quo, sometimes shockingly so. Gemini is the sign of curiosity and communication and lives in the third house of the zodiac wheel, which contains our neighbors, short trips, siblings, and how we relate to our everyday world.

When these two team up, we can expect changes in areas like transportation, technology, learning systems, non-traditional ways of thinking and living, and how we express ourselves. Gemini is a busy sign. Boosted with Uranus’s edgy energy, busy can become restless—nearly frantic. Uranus demands an open-minded attitude not only about others, but about ourselves. During this transit, we have a chance to lose the fear of conformity and gravitate to truly becoming our own person.

Collectively, we can expect to see a push toward inventiveness and creativity in education. Relationships with neighbors, personally, and between nations could undergo even more radical changes than we’re seeing now.  New and/or revolutionary ideas can spread like wildfire under Uranus’s rebellious attitude coupled with Gemini’s love of gossip. Take care when hearing radical ideas from friends or when meeting new groups of people. Investigate. Research. Make sure what you think you’re hearing is true before jumping on anyone’s bandwagon.

New technology is bound to explode during this transit. We’ve only seen the beginning of the AI movement. As it grows during the next few years, we could see a dramatic shift in how our everyday lives are affected. Smart home devices, medical robotic systems, more telehealth and less face-to-face visits with a doctor, AI for research, job assistance, even schoolwork. We could see new forms of group connections replacing today’s social media platforms. New publishing genres. New ways to send personal messages v texting or email.

While much of the technical changes will probably be beneficial, the caution is to not let technology replacing thinking. We need to remember we’re still in charge. We decide what’s useful to us and what isn’t. We should be very critical of handing over too much responsibility for our daily lives, our health, and our learning to machines. The balance between human and tech is delicate. Under this transit, we’ll be tempted to “sit back and relax” while AI and other technological advances do the work, diagnose our ailments, provide our daily news and information, and become our new best friends. Doing so may seem to make our lives easier. But we could end up like the proverbial frog in the pot of water that sat there until it was too late to know it was being boiled.

With all the planetary movement, this year feels like we’re in the middle of an unpredictable relationship. We are. All the outer planets have or are shifting signs. Nervous energy is flooding the skies. We may need to be extra diligent about our focus and follow-through on projects. The good news is that this transit is slow, so we won’t see everything all at once. The key is to remain flexible. Think of it like playing tennis. You’re not going to just stand in one place and bat the ball back and forth. You might have to dive to make a shot, or run to the net to save a point. Be alert. Be on your toes. Most important, be yourself.

Here are a few suggestions to help you thrive during this wild and rowdy time.

  • Stay alert: Uranus likes to send new connections in surprising ways. Keep your eyes and ears open around your neighborhood, your school, the coffee shop, grocery store, or anywhere you visit on a regular basis. You could meet someone, overhear a conversation, or read a flyer that leads to an exciting new prospect.

  • Do your homework: Research, research, research any new group, idea, movement, or belief system you’re tempted to join. Both Uranus and Gemini can be troublemakers, so make sure that wonderful save-the-Earth group isn’t just another scam. Sharpen your fact-checking skills and be extra careful how and to whom you release any person information.

  • Take your time: Uranus is the planet of “ah-ha” moments and ideas that strike like lightening. However, you shouldn’t drop everything to pursue a brainstorm, no matter how tempting it seems. You can’t transform your life in an instant. Stay focused on smaller steps that push you out of your comfort zone a little more each day.

  • Embrace your inner wild child: Stop being so concerned with what others might think. Go ahead and experiment with a new look or a new routine. If you’ve wanted to learn an instrument, a language, how to paint, how to dance, design clothes, jewelry, or gourmet cooking, try it. Whatever you’ve desired but never acted on, yet kept in the back of your mind, now’s the time to go for it. Whether you love it or decide it isn’t for you, you’ll be expanding your curious side and having fun at the same time.

  • Keep your sense of humor: You’ll need it. And you’ll develop more of a Uranian outlook. Being able to laugh at some of the snags and curveballs this transit may toss your way will help you pivot your emotions from being upset to knowing you’ll survive.
